Admin Support | Festival HQ
Help the festival management team with various administration tasks. Duties will vary from marketing collateral distribution in town to a range of back office work.
Requirements: Ability to multitask, work well within a team, available during office hours, proficient in Microsoft Office
Event Set-Up / Pack Down | All Events
Help manage the speedy set up and pack down of various day and night events. This position may involve some medium -heavy lifting.
Requirements: An ability to work in a team, showcase initiative and be prepared to do some physical work
Day Events Assistant | Day Events
Help set up and run an event from start to finish - everything from the Jucy Undy 500 to The Hits 90.4 Birdman. You will be assisting with setting up courses, signage, registration of participants and packing up when the event is done.
Requirements: Ability to work with your own initiative, proactive, highly organized, high-energy, dress in appropriate winter gear
Crowd Control | Matariki Torchlight Procession, Main Stage Entertainment
This role is the “law enforcement” festival position. Duties will involve marshalling crowds and assisting with ensuring the festival is a safe place for everyone working and attending
Requirements: Clear communication, approachable, friendly and confident manner
Registration | Day Events, Mountain Events, Matariki Torchlight Procession
The role is our for our customer service experts, all participants will need to be registered at the start of the event, and you will be the face of the festival, assisting us with processing the participants through registration and briefing them on the event. You will assist the Mountain and Day and Procession Events Managers.
Requirements: IT experience, trouble-shooter, clear communication skills, appropriate winter gear, quick thinker
Event Assistant | Matariki Torchlight Procession, Main Stage Entertainment
A great role for someone wanting to gain more event experience. This role will be shadowing the event manager, assisting where required on the day.
Requirements: Organised, can do attitude, clear communication & confident
Time Keeper | Day Events, Mountain Events
This is very much a key role in all events where a 1st, 2nd, 3rd position is awarded. You will be the first in line to gather all the details from the winners and report to the event manager with precise data.
Requirements: Confident, clear communication skills, appropriate winter gear, quick minded person
Mountain Events 2nd in Command | Cardrona Alpine Resort Events
This person will be working closely with our event manager on the mountain and will be outdoors all day. Responsibilities could vary from assisting with the setup of an obstacle course to keeping the pooch in line for the Dog Derby!
Requirements: Ability to work with your own initiative, proactive, highly organized, high-energy, dress in appropriate winter gear, ability to ski/snowboard and have your own gear with you on the day, have a safe form of transport to Cardrona.
Festival Front of House Usher | SKYCITY BALL, Comedy Night, L.A.B Yoko-Zuna & Lord Echo
Help collect and scan tickets at our ticketed events, assist with showing people to their correct seat in a timely manner and assist the Event Manager with fire warden duties. Once the event has finished you are required to assist with the pack up of the venue.
Requirements: Friendly and approachable personality, tidy black attire (including black shoes), confident and highly efficient
Theming assistant | SKYCITY Ball
Some of our events require a small number of creative people who can assist with general theming of events, including assembling small props and/or installing the decorations.
Requirements: Creative, detail-orientated, handy at making things.
Night Event assistant | SKYCITY Ball, Main Stage Entertainment, Comedy Night, Matariki Torchlight Procession
On the night, we will need some keen events bodies to help with running the event. This role is suited to someone who wants to gain some event experience, and is keen to help with whatever crops up on the night.
Requirements: Organised, can do attitude, tidy black attire
Festival Ambassador | Earnslaw Park Festival Hub
This role includes acting as an ambassador for Winter Festival and will be based out of the information area in the Festival Hub. You will be answering questions from Festival goers, distributing information or handing out festival products. You’ll generally be ensuring people attending festival events have good experiences and know where to go to have more fun!.
Requirements: Polite and friendly, well-presented, able to remember what’s going on at festival, fun or outgoing personality, good with kids
Media & Imagery Assistant
This person will work alongside the Media Relations Manager helping with posting images on the Festival website, collating event results, assisting Festival photographers and some content writing.
Requirements: Detail-orientated and methodical, ability to work well and fast in a busy environment, familiar with Silverstripe, good written communication skills.
Media Relations Assistant
This person will work alongside the Media Relations Manager helping with media accreditation, media assistance at events and some content writing.
Requirements: Good written communication skills, ability to work well and fast in a busy environment, unflappable.
Assist the Marketing and Sponsorship Manager with meeting sponsor’s contractual obligations across the 4 days. You will be assisting with event/activation set up, signage requirements and responding to Sponsor requests.
Requirements: High level of communication skills in order to work with VIP’s and Sponsors, ability to work well and fast in a busy environment, detail orientated and show initiative.
