Festival Info

WINTER STARTS HERE and we’re proud of it!  Thursday 20th - Sunday 23rd June 2019.

2018's festival is sadly over now, but you can sign up to be one of our pals at newsletter and social media channels to keep up to date with all things festival.

At our core, we celebrate Queenstown.

We are by Queenstowners, for Queenstowners and we showcase Queenstown, inviting visitors to come and celebrate our beautiful place with us.

The Real Journeys Queenstown Winter Festival reflects the diversity and vibrancy of our community. We showcase why we are so proud of our place and invite you to come and share that with us.

Starting back in 1975 with a few community events - including our pioneering Dog Derby - festival has evolved into a bucket list event in NZ - something everyone looks forward to in their annual calendar. We celebrate the Winter season starting in New Zealand and in our beautiful region by hosting events on mountain, on (and in) water, and around our CBD.

2018 saw over 45,000 people come to festival and boasts some impressive news coverage (even though our new baby Neve arrived over Winter Festival)

We encourage everyone to participate in our celebration and be part of the action
