Jim Griffths, is originally from the northern English town of Leeds. He gained a bachelor’s degree in Geography from the University of Nottingham. Following his time at University, he started his professional life as an account manager and recruitment consultant.
As a keen traveller and rugby fanatic, he jumped at the opportunity to come to New Zealand, when a group of friends started planning a trip to watch the 2005 Lions series. He fell in love with the Country and decided to seek residency. His passion for fine food and wines lead him to a career in the New Zealand food and beverage industry. He worked for Frenzi group for 7 years in Queenstown and Auckland as part of their senior management team. Currently he is the group operations manager for Gibbston Valley Winery, a position he has held since 2013.
He has a deep appreciation and knowledge of wines from around the world, but his real passion is for Central Otago Pinot Noirs.
