For the last 10 years the musical power house that is Rhythmonyx have been developing their own sound blending hip-hop, reggae, drum & bass and a touch of ska. They have shared the stage with some of Aotearoa’s heavy weights such as Tiki Taane, Shapeshifter, Fat Freddys Drop as well as international reggae legends The Original Wailers (to name just a few) and are ready to get the Queenstown audience grooving during this, their 3rd visit to the Queenstown Winter Festival.
Big, funky bottom end grooves, edgy Aotearoa raps and fluid brass harmonies are what you can expect from this well oiled rhythm machine that was once described by local press as “impossible to define, wonderful to behold”.
Having had a quiet year or so due to members taking some time to focus on family, Rhythmonyx have used this hiatus to work on their up and coming album. This will be the first release since their EP released 8 or so years ago. Keep an eye out for Rhythmonyx on stage live or when the album drops.
