THURSDAY 1st

R18
The cabaret night is going to be not only Hilarious with a capital H, but also a night of great tunes performed by some very worthy musical maestros from this fine country.
The Screaming Banshees will be opening the evening - bringing us Celtic folk songs from a gaggle of local Irish ladies including Margaret O'Hanlon - this town has a fair old Irish contingent, but they might be in the pub, so get along to see what the land they're from really sounds like.
The Chris and Chet show squares up as an NZ musical challenge set upon the audience to name any New Zealand band or entertainer and see if the incredibly talented chaps onstage can perform a number from that artist. Featuring Chris Powley from the Hitmen (performing at the Lindauer Masquerade Ball) and renowned NZ guitarist Chet O’Connell.
Finally we'll have Greg Ward (of Ward and Tutheridge fame) presenting his award winning 'A Brief History of Music'. A Brief History of Music is a laugh-a-minute look at how music has evolved, from the Big Bang to today’s lip-synching Britney Spears, featuring newly-written comic songs (you’ll never think of Barry White in the same way again), on-the-spot musical improvisation with witty audience interaction.
Hosted by Emma Lange, this night promises to be one of the most memorable musical experiences of 2010.
