Combine icy cold weather and water, crazy events and even crazier competitors and you've got the MOREFM Day on the Bay. The action kicks off at 12noon with the MOREFM Birdman Competition. Watch in complete amazement or bewilderment as contestants and their contraptions attempt to fly the farthest - with the landing pad a freezing Lake Wakatipu. 

Then it's onto the MOREFM Splash and Dash, a fiercely contested race made up of interesting individuals who think it is fun to take the plunge from Americans Cup Yacht NZL41 into the icy cold waters of Lake Wakatipu,  all the while vying to pass the finish line first.  A cup of hot cocoa anyone? 

To top the day off, the H&J's Undy 500 will run at (time just being sorted out, will let you know).  For those unfamiliar with this event -  are you interested in tackling a tricky obstacle course in your Undies? Get on down to Queenstown Bay to be a part of it. The race track (a.k.a. obstacle course) is on the Beach and registrations to race in the H&J's Undy 500 will be taken right up until 30 minutes prior to the start of the race on the day of the race - look out for the registration marquee down by the Memorial Arch on Lake Esplanade.
